Let me tell you my story…
It all started when I left my job working as a barista in a cafe and became a financial advisor for a profitable company.
The pay was promising, but it left me in the “hustle mentality” feeling overworked, anxious, and exhausted. I felt like a hamster running on a wheel. So much energy wasted, yet I felt like I was going nowhere.
And to top it all off, finance was NOT something I was passionate about.
Instead, I wanted to do something inspiring, something creative, something that allowed me to connect with others and felt truly…well, me.
The only problem was, I didn’t know where to start.
But fortunately, I was always a creative person…
I had taken courses in graphic design and web development before, and spent many hours learning code and laboring over pixel-perfect designs. But hundreds of job applications later, (no, that’s not an exaggeration) I had been unsuccessful in trying to find employment that worked for me.
I had a million questions running through my head.
Did I have what it takes to make it in this industry?
Would anyone take me seriously?
Was this really the time to try and start a business of my own? (Spoiler alert: Yes!)
I knew I wasn’t the only one struggling with this problem...
But to succeed, I knew I had to stand out. Copy-and-paste templates and basic branding weren’t going to cut it.
I wanted to position myself as premium, but I hated the exclusivity and condescension that usually comes with that territory.
I wanted to be approachable, warm, and inviting to my clients, while still inspiring them to carve out their own style and ignore the trends pressuring them to “fit in.”
And that’s when my design studio was born…
